There is great news for the growth of our sport. It costs no money, you don’t need to travel outside your town (or maybe even your neighborhood), it is by far the best way to develop your skills, and it is fun. Amped Lax is bringing small-sided pickup lacrosse to Virginia Beach and Richmond!
Organized youth sports can be great, but small-sided pick up lacrosse is the best way to fall in love with the sport and get endless touches on the ball. Our goal is to provide a safe environment where anyone can show up, learn to compete, have fun, and improve his or her skills.
The concept is simple. All we need is for you to Direct Message our Instagram account (“Ampedlax_Pickup”), show up with a good attitude and enjoy the best game on earth! What:
Amped will provide a time, a place, tennis balls, and small goals (3 by) for small-sided pick up lacrosse.
3 v 3 (“3 by”) Format- One player on defense assumes the goalie position which makes for an all-time 3 v 2.
No equipment needed! Just show up with your stick and you’re good to go.
Teams will be chosen by throwing all the sticks in a pile and randomly separated.
Why:
It makes the game of lacrosse fun!
You get way more touches and opportunities than you would in a normal practice or full field game setting. It is the best way to develop your skills and try new things.
You learn the game by experience and not just coaching.
It teaches you to play with kids of all different ages, gender, and skill levels. If a kid on your team can’t catch… help him or her out. It’s not all about winning.
Who:
Boys and girls in 8th grade or older.
Parents, boys, girls, college players, pros, coaches, first time players.
