Remembering Caleb Wharton

What an incredible clash of emotions yesterday held as we celebrated the life of Caleb Wharton. We all experienced deep, deep sadness for the loss of our teammate and friend, but we also felt joy and gratefulness for having had him in our lives. The memories will last forever and will bring big smiles to our faces each day.

Below is just a handful of the Amped Lax crew that showed up in force. There must have been 10-15 others who we couldn't round up for the photo. Yesterday, you guys showed the essence of what we want this program to be about. We had players and coaches who traveled from Boston, Princeton, West Point, Annapolis, Baltimore, and Melbourne, Australia to be there for Caleb and his wonderful family. Well done. I know he was looking down on us with a big ole grin.

Amped Announces New Select Team of Rising Sophomores

Starting in the summer of 2014, Amped Lax, which has to this point only invited players in the rising junior and rising senior classes, will begin inviting rising sophomores to participate in the Amped summer program.  At the urging of many college and high school coaches, Amped Lax will hold a Sunday tryout in late March or early April whereby its rising sophomore select team will be chosen.  As always, Amped will do its best not to conflict with high school and club team events.  The tentative plan for the rising sophomores (Class of 2017) will be to play in three tournaments (likely, but not definitely, King of the Hill, Crabfeast, and UVa Team Camp).  Stay tuned for more details and please email inquiries to ampedlax@gmail.com.
